Kindergarten Update February 23 – 27
To help the children reflect on ways to follow in Jesus’ footsteps during Lent.
We will be reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Valeri Gorbachev. Comprehension Skill: Character.
We will work on the recognition and formation of the letter Gg and identify its initial and final sound. High Frequency Words: do, are, that. (Please practice at home.)
Our GSC Lenten Service Project is in support of Philabundance. We are collecting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters (no paper money). $1.00 provides two meals to those in need. Please send in your loose change to be placed in our class collection jar. We will watch as our jar gets filled and remember that Jesus asks us to care for others. This service project is being led by Lauren Blick, Haylie Wackerman and Mollie Naessens in 6th Grade. We are so proud of the 6th Grade girls! Thank you for your support!
Kindergarten had a great time celebrating their 100th Day of School last week. They made necklaces with 100 Froot Loops, counted to 100 by ones, built with 100 blocks, cubes, legos and created designs with 100 colorful shapes. We snacked on cookies in the shape of 100. We jumped for joy 100 times.
