GSC has been a Middle States Accredited School since our doors opened in 2010, welcoming students
from Queen of Peace and St. John of the Cross Parishes, as well as from other nearby communities.
GSC recently completed its reaccreditation process, including a site visit (mostly virtual) from a volunteer team of educational professionals who observed school operations and interviewed various stakeholders from October 6-8, 2020.
The team made its recommendation — that Good Shepherd Catholic School not only "met"
but "exceeded" all standards – to Middle States, and after multi-level review by some of the best educators in the field,
GSC received accreditation for seven years in the Spring of 2021.

MISSION STATEMENT

Good Shepherd Catholic School, rooted in the traditions of the Sisters,
Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is a Christ-centered environment
focused on nurturing our students’ commitment to God, Scholarship, Community and Service.
Our dedicated faculty and families work together to identify and develop each student’s God-given talents and academic promise, preparing students for a faith-filled life of learning, leadership, and love for others.

On November 10, 1845, Reverend Louis Florent Gillet, a Redemptorist missionary, welcomed three women, Mary Theresa Maxis,
who became Mother M. Theresa, Charlotte Ann Schaaf, (Sister M. Ann), and Therese Renauld, (Sister M. Celestine) to begin a community based on the spirit of St. Alphonsus Liguori. Father Gillet envisioned an educational apostolate conducted by
religious women who would give witness to prayerfulness, humility, simplicity, forgetfulness of self, and a deep love
and respect for each individual soul. Read more here:
