The mission of Good ShepherdCatholic School is rooted in God, Scholarship, Community and Service. We model the Gospel values of faith, hope and love to lead our students to a deep and meaningful relationship with God. We challenge our students to value Scholarship as a life-long love of learning. We lay the foundation for our students to become caring, responsible members of the global Community. We lead our students to reach out to others through acts of charity and Service in our parishes and neighborhoods.
"Golden Rose, Queen of Ireland, all my cares and troubles cease as we kneel with love before you, Lady of Knock, my Queen of Peace."
The Blessed Mother holds a special place at GSC. Our school sisters are the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We honor Mary, our Mother, during the month of May by placing on her statue a crown of flowers. This ceremony is a favorite annual tradition of Good Shepherd Catholic. Two 8th graders, May Queen, Christine, and Bryce, had the honor of crowning Mary and placing flowers at her special statue. The May Crowning gives the children an opportunity to especially honor the Blessed Mother of Jesus, and to give thanks to her for bringing our Savior into the world. Our 2nd graders wore their First Communion outfits. Our Confirmandi wore their robes from the Sacrament. Our soon-to-be graduating students looked beautiful in their gowns leading us in honoring Mary. I'm sure our Blessed Mother loved hearing the full and beautiful voices of our 1st graders. Thank you, students, teachers, cantors, and parents, for a beautiful night!
