Evening Academic Fair and Open House
In the morning, the teachers and eighth grade students completed their friendly "Minute To Win It" competition
by playing Defy Gravity, Office Tennis and Yank It. At the end of round three, the final score was teachers 31, eighth grade 16.
The games continued with students playing "Kahoots!" in the gym, organized and run by the Student Council.
GSC provided pretzels for everyone at morning recess and the
Good Shepherd Home and School Association treated students to a hot dog lunch.

"Minute To Win It" Rounds 1 & 2
The Good Shepherd Home and School Association treated GSC's faculty and staff to a catered lunch today
from Riviera D'Italia Restaurant and Pizzeria on Easton Road in Roslyn.
In the afternoon, the teachers competed against the eighth grade students in "Minute To Win It."
They completed two of the three rounds, and the faculty and staff led after day one, 18 points to 14.
The six-player teams played Stack It Up, Separation Anxiety and Breakfast Scramble in round one,
and the second round games were Stack Attack, Movin’ On Up and Nose Dive.

Christmas Craft Day and Sing-A-Long ~ Friday, December 13 and 20, 2019
Before beginning their two-week Christmas/New Year vacation, GSC students and teachers participated in an afternoon Sing-A-Long on Friday, December 20, led by GSC's music man, Mr. Mark Urmson. The previous Friday, the students enjoyed assembling take-home Christmas crafts, thanks to the Good Shepherd Home and School Association, which sponsors this annual day of holiday fun. We celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and thanked the "Mighty Macs"
for their many years of service at St. John of the Cross School and Parish in Roslyn, beginning in 1954,
and at Queen of Peace Parish since 1999, including their current work at GSC.
Our November "Kindness" students (K-8), recognized at our school Mass, are:
Gianna Velez, Emma McGurk, Samantha Gahagan, Maribel Donovan, Ryann Satchell, James Gramlich,
Lily Donovan, Dermot Gray and Alicia Gushue. Thank you for making a positive difference!
We also congratulate pre-K4 student Jude Ryan for exemplifying the Virtue of Charity during November.

Following the first school Mass of the new school year, our student leaders recited the Student Council Pledge to begin their year of service to the school and community.
