2024-2026 Financial Aid Information
Good Shepherd Catholic School receives the bulk of our outside funding for financial aid from BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools). Every scholarship that BLOCS awards to families through their partner schools is qualified based on the family’s need. Each student’s family who desires
to open an application to receive a BLOCS scholarship must do so through an independent third party, FACTS. FACTS collects the family’s past tax returns, proof of household income, and other financial data
to determine if a student qualifies, and if so, a recommended tuition assistance amount.
The application process for the 2024-2025 school year is closed.
The application process for the 2025-2026 school year opened on October 1, 2024,

Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately-funded program whose mission is to provide children from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade, tuition-based schools, thereby increasing their long-term economic and social success. CSFP grants need-based, partial scholarships through a random lottery. CSFP currently serves more than 6,200 children enrolled at over 150 private and parochial schools, including Good Shepherd Catholic.
Important dates:
The application process for the 2025-2026 school year is open! Go to csfphiladelphia.org/apply/.
• The CSFP application opens in mid-September and remains open until March 1 of the following year.
• CSFP conducts a priority lottery in December. Any applications not selected in this initial lottery will automatically be entered into a second lottery in March. To increase your chances of being selected, apply before the November 15 priority deadline for consideration in both lotteries.
• CSFP conducts a final lottery in early March, and winners are notified later that month.
• Winners in both lotteries will be notified via email with next steps for registration.
• If your child is currently receiving a CSFP scholarship, you do NOT need to apply for the lottery. Instead, you will receive renewal information in January 2025. For siblings of current scholarship recipients, you must submit a lottery application. If selected in the lottery, siblings will be added to your existing scholarship account. Siblings cannot be added to an existing account without being selected in the lottery.
• Students who win the lottery will receive a scholarship until they move onto high school, as long as eligibility requirements continue to be met.
• CSFP’s scholarships will be one of 3 flat rates: $1,250, $2,500, or $3,350. However, please note that scholarship awards will not exceed tuition charged, and families are expected to contribute a minimum of $500 per year toward tuition.
