Good Shepherd Catholic School recognizes the importance of STEM education and is committed to technology and its use to prepare students for the future. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education. STEM focuses on real-world applications, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and exploration. Our teachers incorporate STEM education into lessons and special projects throughout the school year.
GSC's STEM technologies include:
Robotics: Ozobots, LEGO Mindstorms EV3 and LEGO WeDo 2.0, and Roboterra
Coding: Coding apps integrated with Robotics, Makey Makey, Scratch and Scratch, Jr., used in conjunction with Makey Makey
Virtual Reality: Google Expedition
Classrooms have access to the organized lessons and resources in the GSC Library, the beginning of our STEM lab.
Since GSC also teaches Religion and supports "The Arts" in many forms, we take STEM to the STREAM level!
