Join the Good Shepherd Catholic School Board of Limited Jurisdiction (BOLJ)
Rooted in the traditions of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Good Shepherd Catholic School is committed

Our faculty and families work together to recognize and develop each child’s God-given talents,
preparing them for a faith-filled life of learning, leadership, and love for others.
The Board of Limited Jurisdiction (BOLJ) plays a vital role in advancing the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals,
ensuring the long-term sustainability of Catholic education.
Board members attend four to six meetings annually and serve on one or more of the following committees:
Development
Finance
Enrollment & Marketing
Facilities
We currently are seeking individuals for the following roles:
Vice Chair
Secretary
Development Chair
Enrollment & Marketing Chair
General Board Members
Not ready to join the Board?
You still can contribute by serving on the Development or Enrollment & Marketing Committees as a non-Board member.
BOARD OF LIMITED JURISDITICTION POSITION SUMMARY
Board Members actively support and promote the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Ideal Board Members bring varying expertise, knowledge and skills as they create policy in the areas of finance, enrollment, development, Board governance, facilities, and other committees as deemed necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the school community in gifts of time, talent and treasure
Understand what is and is not within their jurisdiction
Act with the school’s interest as the top priority
Make early contributions to annual and capital fundraisers (preferably at lead gift level)
Accept and support Board decisions; once a decision has been made, the Board speaks with one voice
Be responsible for sound financial management
Act as an ambassador for the school in areas of enrollment and development
Support the Principal’s implementation of policy
Actively serve on appropriate committees (at least one)
Fully participate by attending meetings and coming well prepared for all matters
Engage in productive, open, honest debate and discussion while respecting confidentiality
Ask difficult questions and find answers
Participate in Principal evaluation and self-assessment of the Board
Promote the school’s academic program and ensure that the program responds to the needs of the school community
Ensure development and succession of the Board
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate a passion for Catholic elementary education
Offer expertise in areas such as finance, development, marketing, or facilities
Maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest
