GSC is celebrating computer science by participating in "Hour of Code." Hour of Code is an international event to increase awareness of computer science in education. All students from preschool through grade 8 did various activities involving coding on many different levels. Projects included: code.org, kodable.org and Scratch Jr. (on the iPads). The older students were able to assist the preschool, kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2.
The following students are in the Archdiocesan Festivals this year. These students are working hard with Mr. Urmson to prepare for their special concert at the Kimmel Center in Spring, 2019. We are very proud of you!
Festival Choir: Bradyn, Max, and Maddie Honor Choir: Alyssa, Kennedy, Katie, Christine, Robbie, Rori and Meghan "Angels in Motion" create blessing bags to help those who are in need. This month, our students in Grades Kindergarten, 1st, 7th, and 8th worked with each other to put over 200 bags of socks together for those who might need them. We know that brand new socks are soft and comfy, so we hope these feel good.
Many, many thanks to all who came out and supported the Good Shepherd Catholic Christmas Bazaar and Tree Lighting this weekend. It was a wonderful kickoff to the Christmas and Advent season here at GSC. We wish to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our Home and School Board and volunteers who made this year’s Christmas Bazaar very successful once again. We can’t even begin to count up the days, weeks, hours and hours that our Home and School put in to make it such a great event.
Santa made an extra special stop at Good Shepherd’s Tree Lighting on Sunday evening. Thank you to the Fort Washington Fire Company #1 helping with one of our favorite holiday traditions. Santa arrived in style while riding on top of the truck and they made sure our families were safe crossing the street. Mr. Urmson and the GSC Choir performed, in addition to Armani Entertainment. Thank you for the music, entertainment and for helping us “Rock Around the Christmas Tree!” But a very special thank you to all of the parents coming out in the not-so-nice weather. Thanks for being there! |
