![]() My name is Melissa Gregory, and I am excited to begin the new school year teaching 5th grade at Good Shepherd Catholic School. I grew up in New York state’s Hudson Valley, and I attended the State University of New York College at Geneseo, majoring in psychology. I moved to Pennsylvania after graduation and worked several years doing social work in Philadelphia. I’ve always enjoyed working with children, but knew that my calling was in education. I returned to school, attending Holy Family University, where I obtained my Master’s Degree in Education with certifications in elementary and special education. I began my teaching career at the School District of Philadelphia, teaching Kindergarten and then 3rd grade. As my family grew, I took some years off to care for them. I returned to teaching a few years ago at the Abington School District where I held long term and per diem substitute positions. I am thrilled to be returning to teaching full-time at Good Shepherd. I now live in Ardsley with my husband, Kevin, and four children Connor (18), who recently began his education at Kutztown University, Abigail and Aiden (13) and Hadley (12). As a family, we are active in Queen of Peace, and my husband and I are entering our 6th year volunteering with the Queen of Peace PREP program. As a family, we enjoy the beach, traveling, and just spending time together. I have a strong love and foundation for my Catholic faith, as well as a strong love for teaching. What better way to fulfill my calling than through a career teaching at Good Shepherd! I hope to pass on my love of learning to my students, guiding them toward their future. Comments are closed.
