Effective immediately, and until further notice, Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Pérez has dispensed the faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. However, all regularly-scheduled Masses will remain open to the public for those who wish to attend.
In response to Governor Tom Wolf’s declaration for Montgomery County, PA, in regards to COVID-19: As of Friday, March 13, Queen of Peace Parish is canceling ALL ACTIVITIES EXCEPT FOR daily Mass, Sunday Mass, Saturday and Wednesday Confessions, and Adoration. We also will continue to celebrate funerals and scheduled weddings. The parish will still have the First Penance Service scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m. Cancellations include, but are not limited to: Wednesday evening PREP classes, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Sodality, Schoenstatt, Lenten Soups on Friday nights, CYO activities, Senior Citizen activities, Lottery, Tuesday and Thursday Prayer Groups, and all Scouting events. Cancellations also include the sale of Scrip and Raffle tickets at Masses. We will have this policy in place for as long as the governor has his directives in place (until March 27 at this time). Please understand that as we receive instructions and guidance from archdiocesan and state/county government officials, the above situations could change. Good Shepherd Catholic School will be closed in accordance with Governor Wolf’s directives. Please refer to the school’s Website – www.gscregional.org – for additional information. Comments are closed.
