Welcome To Our New Board Chair!

The Good Shepherd Catholic school community would like to extend a warm welcome to Tom McDonald as the new Chair of Good Shepherd Catholic School’s Board of Limited Jurisdiction. Previous to this appointment, Tom served as Vice Chair from 2015 and now will automatically move up to Chair and rotate into position upon the retirement of Charlie Bennett, who served his term of three years as Chair.

Outside of his work with the school board, Tom is an active member of Queen of Peace Parish Community. Tom was strongly recommended by the community who refers to him as a “leader and having very strong skills in constituent relations and would be well suited to address facility matters with his Fire Department experience.” His volunteer work, in addition to this Board of Limited Jurisdiction, has included volunteering with The Fort Washington Fire Company #1 and coaching with the Upper Dublin Soccer Club. Tom also served on the Fort Washington Fire Company’s Board of Directors and has chaired several committees, including Recruitment and Retention, PR and Insurance.

Tom is married to Eileen McDonald, GSC’s  Honors Math Teacher, and is a devoted father to 3 graduates of Good Shepherd Catholic, Maggie (‘13), Maura (‘15), and Harrison (‘18) McDonald.
